About Your Trainer - Kevin Long

Picture
I was born and raised in Santa Cruz, CA and have lived in Santa Barbara for more than 20 years. My wellness journey started when I got really sick from a staph infection from a surfing injury in Hawaii. I missed so many days of school that I had to withdraw from all my classes. When I returned the following semester I was determined to learn everything I could about health and nutrition so I could avoid getting so sick again. That's when the concept of resilience became so important to me.

I went back to school to major in Exercise Science and became certified through The American College of Sports Medicine. Since then I have attended countless conferences and completed several certification courses.

Besides keeping people healthy, my passion is music. Over the past 20+ years I've played in dozens of bands ranging from reggae to bluegrass. Like
most kids raised on the beach in California, I also have a love for surfing. I was a surf instructor and adventures tour guide for many years in Santa Barbara.

In addition to fitness training, I'm an avid "biohacker", always on the look out for the latest health and wellness hacks so we can work smarter, not harder. I bring this knowledge as well as my Precision Nutrition training to my practice.
